In a session on September 20, 2022, Fountain Valley’s city council voted against allowing short-term rentals in the city.

The decision followed a unanimous vote by the planning commission not to allow short-term rentals. Fountain Valley residents also spoke out at both the planning commission and city council meetings to voice their opposition to short-term rentals, which they saw as putting money before people.
